Mambo

December 25th, 2004 No comments

I’ve been looking at other content management systems and while talking
to my host for the perl libraries, he recommended Mambo. I’ve been
playing with that and it’s amazingly powerful. Still working some
things out but I want to decide on a system to use and get started on a
permanent site.

Success!

After a nice early afternoon awakening I went to check my page and my
pop2blog posts actually posted, contrary to the cron output messages I
got before putting this project n hold.

I edited the script to remove my email address but now it posts like a
charm.

The real Welcome message

December 24th, 2004 No comments

It’s been almost 4 years since I’ve done anything with my site. I’d always say I was going to do something with it soon but after looking at it today and my last promise was 17 months ago, I decided to do something.

Way back in Jan 2004 I toyed with the idea of going to MT and installed it (2.63) and made a few posts but never put it up live (not linked anywhere). As the archives will show, those test posts were far apart! But I’ve imported them for the heck of it.

So today, Christmas Eve 2004, I turn a new page on transnull.com.

This is my first blog so it may be a semi slow start. MT is mad configurable and I need to figure out teh site design and get the templates edited.

That’s all for now.
