Updates

April 23rd, 2005

Well I never did get around to catching up on my Tivo’d shows. Time has flown since my last post. I can’t believe this semester is almost over. Last day is Tuesday, May 9th. One class should be fairly easy, it’s not a written final but a project. My other class is gonna be a bitch. I’m not looking forward to that one.

I thought I’d have my summer wide open to work as much as I can but I found out the teacher I wanted is teaching the Math class I need (Trig). So I signed up post haste and will be entertaining myself with summer school session 2 math Mondays and Tuesdays 8a-11 (June 6 to July 28). It’s going to be a good time, I had the same teacher before so it’s gonna be a extremely laid back class.

The world of linux has been going very well too. I have no regrets giving up Windows and learn new things about linux every day. I still run Gentoo and love it. I got a friend to install it and possibly convert completely.

Newegg had some dirt cheap RAM so I couldn’t say no. I picked up 2x 512MB PC2700 DDR for $77.71 shipped. I received my order in 2 days via Fedex super saver shipping. That’s right, 2 days from California to Illinois. My main machine is now up to 1GB and my 179$ Fry’s special is up to 640MB. That’s right, anyone in need of a computer or wants another one, Fry’s typically has one for 179$. It’s usually $280 but is always on sale for $199 or $179. Not a bad system. Comes with 128MB, built-in video and network, modem (haven’t used one in, oh, 8 years since I went broadband), cdrom, 40GB HDD. Makes for a nice spare system or a decent system for someone starting off. I primarily got it so I can use distributed compiling between my 2 Gentoo systems.
